Delete your CloudTunnel account
You can delete your CloudTunnel VPN account and the data linked to it at any time. This page explains the three ways to do it, what is removed, and what we keep.
CloudTunnel VPN is operated by HOSTUPCLOUD, INC. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. You can create a new account afterwards, but devices, rewards and support history from the deleted account are not restored.
Before you start: cancel any paid subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through Google Play, the App Store or Stripe; those are managed by the store you paid in. Cancel it there first:
- Google Play: Play Store → profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → CloudTunnel VPN → Cancel.
- App Store: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → CloudTunnel VPN → Cancel.
- Stripe (web purchase): sign in at cloudtunnelvpn.com/dashboard/subscription and click Manage billing, or use the link in your receipt email.
While a subscription is still active or in a trial, the web deletion button is disabled and an email request is put on hold until the subscription ends, so that you are never charged for an account that no longer exists.
1. In the app
Open the CloudTunnel app and go to Account → Settings → Delete account, then tap Continue. The app opens your mail client with a pre-filled request to [email protected]. Send it from the email address your account is registered with. We process in-app and email requests within 30 days; you will receive a confirmation email when the deletion is complete.
If you prefer to delete the account yourself, immediately, use the web dashboard below. Both routes remove the same data.
2. On the web (immediate)
- Sign in at cloudtunnelvpn.com/dashboard/settings.
- Scroll to Delete account and click Delete my account, then Send confirmation email. If you signed in more than 15 minutes ago you may be asked to sign in again first.
- Open the confirmation link we send to your account email. It is valid for one hour; nothing changes until you open it. Open it in the same browser you are signed in on.
Your account and data are deleted the moment the link is opened, and you are signed out everywhere.
3. By email
Email [email protected] with the subject Delete my CloudTunnel account, from the email address your account is registered with. We may reply to verify that you own the account. Requests are completed within 30 days of receipt and confirmed by email.
What is deleted
- Your profile: name, email address, password hash and any linked sign-in providers.
- All sessions, on every device and browser.
- Your registered devices and their tunnel keys. Keys are revoked on our servers at the moment of deletion, so every device is disconnected.
- Subscription records held in your account, usage counters (the free plan's monthly data totals) and redeemed promo codes.
- Referral links and rewards earned from them.
- Your support tickets and the messages in them.
- Account flags and internal notes attached to your account.
We do not keep VPN connection or activity logs, so there is nothing of that kind to delete. See the no-logs policy.
What is retained
- A deletion record. We keep an audit entry that your account was deleted: the account email, the date, and the number of devices disconnected. It lets us prove the deletion happened and answer any later dispute.
- Payment records. Transaction and receipt data from Google Play, the App Store or Stripe is kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. It is tied to the store transaction, not to your deleted account.
- Abuse reports. If a report was ever filed about your account, the report is kept but detached from your identity.
- Aggregate statistics. Totals such as server counts, data carried per region and the number of accounts created contain no personal data and are not affected.
